Tasting Notes
Medium burgundy with cherry highlights, med-light opacity, clean.
The nose shows intense ripe bell pepper immediately, fresh black cherry, dried dill/savory, red licorice, red currant jam. Savoury and fruity, opening to Christmas baking spices (allspice, fresh grated nutmeg). Cassis liqueur, blackberry, anise. Lots going on!
The palate shows lively acidity, juicy red fruit upfront with peppery notes on the finish. Dry tannins at the core, structured. Smooth palate, finishing long and vibrant with lots of fruit and spice.
Food Pairing Notes
Perfect holiday dinner wine! Will please a wide variety of red wine lovers and complement roast dinners very well. Make a stuffing with cranberry and roasted pumpkin seed to really play off the bright fruit in this wine.
