Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
A vibrant, medium pink pour with an energetic mousse that leaps from the glass. The nose opens with a bright burst of citrus and ripe peach, followed by notes of watermelon, pomegranate, and fresh-picked strawberry. Subtle spice from the Grüner Veltliner component adds a lifted, aromatic complexity.
On the palate, the mousse is persistent and fine, carrying flavours of strawberry-rhubarb compote, mandarin orange, and pink grapefruit. The finish is smooth and refreshing, with a beautifully judged balance of natural sweetness and lively acidity.
Production Notes
83% 2022 Riesling, Viognier and Gruner Veltliner blend. 100% from Intersection handpicked into small baskets, pressed to stainless, fermented in neutral French oak barrels 2 weeks at cellar temps, then aged on lees 3 months.
17% 2021 Small Lot Pinot Blanc. Into this base blend, added 6% Silica Merlot.
Total varietal breakdown is 39% Riesling, 23% Viognier, 15% Gruner Veltliner, 15% Pinot Blanc, 8% Merlot
Filtered, sweetened and force carbonated in July 2025, then labeled for release August 2025.
Winemaker Notes
This wine is mostly based on the abundant 2022 vintage at Intersection, and is composed of grape varieties that we grow or have used in our Mile's Edge blend which are not often used in sparkling wines (typically Pinot Noir and Chardonnay). An exploration of palate balance and fresh, lively flavours come together in this approachable and delightful sparkling Rose.
We've had a unusual experience with winegrowing in the past several years, working through environmental challenges and finally getting an actual overhead view of our vineyard, which is why we've named this one Aerial: it's a nod to changes in perspective and how we can get an excellent result from that evaluation.
Food Pairing Notes
Perfect for pairing with fresh melon, guava sprinkled with chili salt, or soft cheeses like chèvre. Equally enjoyable on its own as a refreshing aperitif under summer skies.
